Exhibitions
My shipyard paintings were on show at Claustre St Domingo, Inca, Majorca from 17 September until 15 October 2004.
They were also on tour with an exhibition initiated
by North Ayrshire Museums titled “Over the Wall.” The exhibition
ran at various venues in Scotland from 9th September 2001
and had bookings until April 2003.
Other
exhibitors included Painters Tom McKendrick, Kenny Little, Jim Sweeney,
and Willie Moran. Sculptors Roy Fitzsimmons, Stuart Orr, and Tom Mills
exhibited along with Ceramicist Ken Ryan. Rock Star Kevin McDermott had
his songwriting notebooks and albums on display along with a video.
Another video was shown of one of Peter McDougal’s plays. All the
exhibitors worked in the shipyards at some time and are all in different
careers now. Fairway Forklifts Ltd. of Hillington Industrial Estate,
Glasgow, sponsored the exhibition. The show was at the Lillie Gallery,
Milngavie until February 12 2003. It then moved to Methil Heritage Centre,Museum of Levenmouth, Fife, from February 27
until 19 April.
